Down on the flower farm

Good Morning and thank you to everyone who made last week a busy one! In March a lot of time is spent on the field, prepping beds for the season ahead. This week I will be back there, weeding and mulching the remaining beds. Behind the scenes there is a lot of very unpretty, sweaty work and I am thrilled that Jenny Woolgar captured the reality of flower growing when she came here a few weeks ago. We met last year for a feature about our business in Cumbria Life Magazine and I've asked her back this year to chart 'a year in the life' of our field, our flowers, and what it takes to grow them. Just looking at the photographs Jenny took and I can already see such a difference on the field!

For those new to our business, this is me, Harriet, on our field in west Cumbria, UK, busy making compost and moving muck in my trusty yellow barrow. The glamour! Like our Facebook page or Instagram to follow our 2022 year in flowers, and subscribe to our newsletter to keep informed on opportunities to buy our flowers
