Wedding Terms & Conditions

Orders:

Orders are taken and managed using our online booking system.

Booking Fee:

Non-refundable 20%.

To save your date, we ask for a booking fee of 20% of the initial order value or if you’re ordering a year in advance you can ‘Save the Date’ for £150. We then plan and grow the flowers for your wedding. Our booking fee is not refundable if you cancel your wedding. If we are unable to provide flowers, we will refund your booking fee. (We will not cancel your order except in exceptional unforeseen circumstances listed below.)

Pricing:

Our prices are listed for 2025 as we believe in being transparent. They are based on current market prices at the time of being set (January 2025) anticipating some prices increases over the course of the year. If our costs increase disproportionally or unexpectedly our prices may have to change too. Prices for 2026 will be set in January 2026. Any booking taken in 2025 for 2026 will have the order updated with the new prices in January 2026.

Full Payment:

Due one month (31 days) prior to your wedding

Payment for your wedding flowers is due in full one month in advance of your wedding day. One month before your wedding an automated email will ask for you to confirm your order and pay if you have not already done so.

Changes:

When you confirm your order, we ask you to confirm sizes, quantities, colour and style. You can adjust your order up until this point but once it is paid it cannot be changed.

Changes can be made through your website account or by emailing harriet@mebesspro.com. Significant changes need to be done in advance and not left until the 1 month date and a lot of changing of your order (more than 2 emails requesting changes) will incur an admin fee of £50. Once your Wedding flowers have been paid for in full the order is confirmed, and cancellation is not possible. We recommend you take out wedding insurance.

Late changes or any ‘on the day’ changes will be charged.

Late Payment:

Your order is unconfirmed until it is paid in full. Other orders will take priority. If your order is not paid for before your wedding, your order will NOT be supplied.

Deposit:

A returnable deposit may be required with some of our Sustainable Styling options.

This deposit will be used to pay for replacement of any loss or damages incurred.

Replacements will be charged at cost.

Consultation:

Consultation is not included in our prices.

We do not provide speculative design quotes or do consultations. Site visits may be arranged at our discretion for high value orders. £2000+

Communication:

We communicate by email for efficiency and time management reasons.

We cannot enter into lengthy email discussions or conversations and do not provide our phone number to customers.

Point of contact:

We prefer to communicate with the Bride and Groom directly.

For installation of our styling services, we need a contact on the day. If this person is not the client, they need to be fully briefed on the order, our style and working practices, and is purely for logistical purposes. Any changes they request are at our discretion and may be charged for.

Flowers:

Always British! We aim to use our Cumbrian flowers and foliage for our weddings. We may subsidise with flowers from other British growers at some times of the year. We do not promise any specific flower and any specific flower requested is subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Our flowers are ornamental, and all flowers should be considered toxic and potentially
harmful if consumed.

Flowers for cakes:

NOT EDIBLE! Our ‘Cake Flowers’ are for a Wedding Cake Designer to use on your cake. They are not pre-arranged. These will be non-toxic flowers grown without chemicals here in Cumbria. You MUST NOT use flowers in our DIY Buckets as they may be toxic and unsuitable.

Delivery:

Delivery isn’t included in our prices. Cumbria is large and difficult to get around (those Mountains!) so we have different prices depending on the venue. Delivery is paid per journey made, not per wedding. (ie. you have to pay the delivery fee twice if you want DIY flowers delivered the day before, and personal flowers on the day.)

Moving Arrangements:

  • Arches must not be moved.

  • If you choose to move smaller flower displays from one location to another during the course of your wedding, you do so at your own risk. Cumberland Flower Farm are not liable for any damage to the property or any injury arising to the persons involved in the moving or subsequent relocation of the flower arrangements.

De-installation:

De-installation is included in most Sustainable Styling prices but is not included with DIY options. With our Sustainable Styling items a time will be agreed for us to collect everything from the venue.

Working with other suppliers:

We no longer supply other florists or venue stylists with our flowers. We prefer to provide all the flowers for a wedding, and only want to be promoted on social media when the flowers are exclusively ours. Please let us know if you are using flowers from elsewhere too.

We are happy to work alongside other stylists and suppliers who understand our approach and ethos.

Equipment:

Props and vases remain our property and must be returned to us within 3 working days of your wedding. As sustainable stylists, we want to reuse our props and vases over and over again. Your order includes hire of these items only.

Unforeseen circumstances:

There are circumstances which may occur which are not within our reasonable control. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • sudden ill health (we have stand-by florists to step-in and cover weddings in most ill health situations).

  • Adverse weather conditions ‘acts of god’.

  • Industrial action / public disorder.

  • Road traffic accident/severe traffic delays which make it impossible or unsafe for us to perform any of the services.

  • Where Cumberland Flower Farm is unable to gain access to the venue to carry out the services at the times and dates agreed.

  • Where Cumberland Flower Farm has to wait for other providers of services engaged by you or the venue to complete their work before we are able to carry out your ordered services

Ultimately Cumberland Flower Farm cannot accept responsibility for events outside its
control and if prevented from providing our service can only offer a refund of money paid.

In the event of any dispute, the value of the compensation or refund will not exceed the
value of the goods ordered.

Liability:

Our flower displays are for ornamental purposes.

The client shall indemnify and keep indemnified Cumberland Flower Farm against any costs, losses or liabilities incurred by Cumberland Flower Farm however they arise, as a result of any breach of these terms by the client or their agent(s).

You agree to these Terms and Conditions when you pay your booking fee.
