Why am I not selling Valentines Day flowers?

Why am I not selling Valentines Day flowers? There are a couple of reasons. The main ones are that we don’t have anything to cut and in order to have flowers later in the year, I’ve got to put my time and energy into the field. After my break in January, I need to get the field ready to grow the pretties… tidying away last year’s annuals, pruning, weeding and mulching. There are perennials, shrubs and trees to plant. Then seed sowing beckons, starting the whirlwind of potting on, planting out, and more weeding. They don’t grow themselves!
