Drought

Last night we had a few hours light rain (with tremendous lightning and thunder!) and everything is looking better for it. The photos below were taken yesterday, before the rain.

Everything is struggling! It’s very hard without rain, especially as we’re off grid and rely on natural sources for irrigation. I’m grateful Martyn is brilliant at the infrastructure side of things, reducing the criticalness of it, but none-the-less the changing climate is an ever present, increasingly scary presence in our lives.

In a world where most people are going about their business doing what they want when they want, I worry too few are aware of the already difficult consequences of climate change. The crisis is a crisis and we’re experiencing it here and now. And worryingly, there’s no sign of things getting any better in the long term.
