Autumn Weddings

It’s wonderful to finish September using only what we’ve grown. Zoe’s Bouquet was all grown here by me, and we were able to incorporate most of the flowers she expressed a love of, in her preferred colour palette

Into October we may start buying flowers and/or foliage from other British flower farmers if necessary. It’s back-up that allows us to offer weddings up until mid-November when our chrysanthemums usually finish. Our aim is to reduce this amount and be 100% Cumbrian and I’ve not had to buy in anything since the peonies in June….

Our focus on sustainability however means that we only supplement with seasonal British flowers, grow a wide range of flowers and foliage ourselves to reduce the liklihood of having to buy in and have a naturalistic aesthetic and clear ‘seasonal’ approach that is focused on what’s growing here, now.
