World Book Day
I’ve mixed feelings; I LOVE books, but hate the dressing up. (How dressing up in synthetic costumes of film characters has anything to do with enjoying reading, I don’t know?!) So in the spirit of celebrating books, what are you reading? What is your favourite book? I’d love to hear what is keeping you entertained and your recommendations!
Mine? I have a lot of flowery and recipe books, but my favourite is Erin Bunting and Jo Facer’s The Edible Flower. It is inspiring and useful and beautiful. (More photos in stories!)
In January I really enjoyed reading Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa (translated by Eric Ozawa). It is such a quiet unassuming book, but I got immersed in jimbocho in Tokyo and the lives of Takako, Satoru and Momoko. Brilliant. I recommend.
I’m currently reading The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller….
