We’re Sustainably Certified!

Last week we submitted all the documents for our Sustainable Wedding Alliance accreditation and had our review meeting with Michelle, the founder of the SWA and champion of sustainability in the wedding industry. I am so pleased to say we passed!

We join a small but growing number of businesses who have scrutinised their businesses and made plans to be net zero, and be lighter and kinder in all aspects of their business operations. We have written strategies, policy’s, plans, systems and above all have proven our determination to make a difference. We know exactly what we need to do, the risks and costs, and we have a plan to do it.

The average wedding tots up 14.5tonnes of carbon emissions; that’s the same as an average uk household’s ANNUAL carbon footprint! There’s a lot of work to be done to make weddings lighter and environmentally kinder - if you’re keen to make a difference as a wedding supplier I highly recommend that you join the Sustainable Wedding Alliance and receive expert support and a nationwide community of supportive peers.
