Deadheading our Dahlias

The deadheading had some pizazz yesterday…

We’re on our summer break so we’ve had more flowers to deadhead than usual. I saw a post by Lennie from Flower Farming For Profit talking about exactly this sort of ‘spare’ dahlia yesterday, just as I had filled some vases for our house with some of our deadheads! It made me so happy to do this, and then happy to see a post talking about flower farming business decisions and profitability… it takes experience, confidence and math to know what to grow, how many to grow and when a sale isn’t the sensible decision. Sometimes it’s better to enjoy the flowers. And I am!
