Costs

So today I’m preparing for a wedding, but I thought I’d talk costs..

Yesterday I finally ordered my spring bulbs. (Most of them anyway!) Bulbs are my spring staple, and however hard I try to reduce my dependency on them (for sustainability reasons I’ve discussed before) their reliability to turn up with style and pizazz after the dark months of winter means I’m lost without them. I’ve been dithering because when I tried to reorder last year’s choices exactly - an excellent mix of colours, shapes and season - despite some being out of stock, it totaled 15% more!

Not everything I buy has increased by that much so I’m not preempting huge hikes in my prices next year, please Don’t PANIC - but I am highlighting the industry specific increases that small businesses have to navigate. Olive oil prices for example! 🤯. Inflation is coming down but the challenges of our climate crisis impacts different businesses in different ways.

Anyway, on with the wedding…
