Autumn or Winter?
When I took this wedding booking in October I had to remind myself that in recent years we’ve had all the winter weather at the end of November… snow, ice, -17C. - but it was mild right up until the week before. We didn’t have snow and it only dropped to -8c but it did sadly knock out a few of the less hardy chrysanthemum. Nonetheless, we love this wild autumnal bridal posy we created at the very end of November using #grownnotflown blooms.
Provenance: Sweet William, eucalyptus, honesty and grasses grown here. Chrysanthemum are ours and from Norfolk, with Cornish heather.
And yes those of you with a good memory may remember me declaring our 2024 weddings finished… but then I took two bookings! We’ve another one next week too We are very happy to flower winter weddings, funerals and events but only if you fully understand the limitations of the season. I think this post shows though that even with daytime frost and limited options, our flowers are simple and stunning!
