Our last rose of the year…

“God gave us our memories so that we might have roses in December.” – J.M. Barrie

They’ll be back next year, and I’m cherishing this last one. As we move into the gifting season it’s worth remembering that it isn’t rose season so bouquets containing them will have a heavy carbon footprint. Those roses are most likely from the tropics - Kenya, Colombia, Ecuador, maybe India - and brought here by airplane.

Personally nothing compares to the real deal so after this beauty has dropped it’s petals I’d rather do without a high carbon alternative in anticipation of next year’s early summer Cumbria roses… you can’t beat their sweet scent!Thank you
